Myan Pyramid

With world events as they are, and so many parallels between what is happening in the US and what happened in Germany in the late 1930s and early 1940s, it is difficult not to reflect and be concerned about our children and grandchildren's futures.

1940s Military Jeep

When society stops learning from its past mistakes and begins reliving its atrocities and injustices, it ceases to exist. Civilization depends on coexistence and our environment. When those two things are gone, so is the culture that lost them. It will destroy itself in its own greed, power struggle for dominance, and ignorance of its past. This is evident throughout ancient history when you look at advanced civilizations like the Myan, Easter Island, Khmer, Mesoamerican, and the Indus Valley cultures. These ancient civilizations were ahead of their times and yet unable to survive these human downfalls. Yes, in some cases, natural effects like volcanic activity, climate change, and changes in river course had some impact, but that was only part of the big picture for these societies to completely collapse. Man's actions up to those events, and inability to adapt after, were the ultimate reason for these societies' disappearances.

If man can't learn this lesson, the higher power of existence will resolve things. Mother Nature and the cosmos have the instinct and power to prevail, and they will eliminate all potential threats to the continued creative process of life and energy. Man is but a speck of micodust in the cosmic scheme of things. And if we are not humble enough to recognize this, we too shall be lost and forgotten to time.
